Q: What is most important from winter and spring training? A: (Peter Basso) I would say consistency. Coming together as a team is the most important part of Spring Training. This is the time of year where we begin to ride together as a whole unit. Functioning as one, rather than a team of individuals. As a team we can employ specific tactics and strategies during races that allows us to not only control the race but places our best athletes at the front in the finish. Winter Training also allows us to learn more about "off the bike" exercises and training tips that will help to build on our "on the bike training". Most important thing is that we have fun together, we can't lose focus on the joy we experience riding our bikes. Q: What races does the Rassy Road Team look forward to this year? A: (Kale Halder) Some of the guys plan to hit some early season races in March down in Lawrence, KS. Our main focus, however, will be the Iowa Cup Series. Specifically, we plan to have a good showing at the Chris Lillig Memorial Cup Omnium (Iowa City) weekend as well as the Omnium in Clear Lake. Also new this year is the Midwest Flyover Omnium Series we will be sending some guys to. For those wanting some regional race experience, a small crew of us are looking forward to Tulsa Tough in Tulsa, OK. Additionally, we're returning as promoter of the The East Village Criterium. Saturday, August 3rd. This year, the East Village Criterium will be the Iowa State Championship Criterium!
